Senior Communications Adviser (Range E2)
Person Specification
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
1. Demonstrable high level strategic communications and mainstream media handing expertise:
- with experience in a relevant business, regulatory or government policy context
- and an understanding of, and ability to develop strong relationships with people in, key media organisations
- an appreciation of the role and position of an independent influencing or challenge body
2. Capacity to engage with the policy and political context:
- a high-level understanding of the business and personal tax policy-making context
- an ability to engage constructively and creatively with media and official stakeholders with different perspectives, expertise and priorities, both inside and outside one’s own organisation
- coupled with a realistic appreciation of the implications of the present economic and political context.
3. Ability to work flexibly at pace:
- experience of drafting and managing lines which need to be agreed with multiple stakeholders,
- ability to gather, order and analyse information from disparate sources,
- ability to organise own work flexibly to fit in with others’ work and timescales.
